Today’s guest is Kate Suprenuk, President of Union Tank Car Company and Procor Limited Leasing and Manufacturing—part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway. Between, Union Tank Car and Procor, the business owns roughly 25% of all rail tank cars in North America, supplies those cars under full service operating leases, operates a tank car manufacturing plant in Louisiana, produces valves in Tennessee, and manages a network of repair shops to support its portfolio of cars.
Kate brings nearly 30 years of experience in transportation equipment leasing, including over two decades at GE Capital in both railcar and intermodal services where she was the business CFO. She has been with UTLX and Procor for the past 8 years, where she currently leads leasing and manufacturing, and is currently an active member of the board of the Railway Supply Institute.
Originally from the East Coast, Kate earned her degree in Accountancy from Villanova and is a CPA in inactive status. She now lives in the Chicagoland area and stays enjoys cycling, snowboarding, and outdoor adventures. When she’s not leading teams or out on the trails, you’ll likely find her cheering on her three kids at volleyball matches.
Please join me in welcoming Kate Suprenuk.
